• Malaysian Citizens & NEW STUDENTS admitted to Wawasan Open University Undergraduate

courses, Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate courses OR the Headstart programme.

•  Minimum education qualification of SPM or equivalent with a PASS in English Language.

•  Students with degree qualification(s) are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

•  If single, Personal Basic Income of NOT MORE than RM3,000 per month or RM36,000 per annum.

•  If married, Family Basic Income of NOT MORE than RM4,000 per month or RM48,000 per annum.

•  Provide clear proof and evidence to support education qualification, income declaration or unemployment declaration.

•  Below 55 years old.

•  Headstart students who have received study grant and progressing to degree programme are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

• The study grant is offered to NEW STUDENTS ONLY.

• This grant is to subsidize tuition fees only (up to a maximum of RM600 or the equivalent of tuition fee to one course whichever is lower for Undergraduate courses, Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate courses) OR RM500 for Headstart programme. • The Processing & Administration fee and the Resource & Services fee must be borne by the applicant.

• Study grants awarded but not used for the semester cannot be retained by the student and shall therefore be deemed to be forfeited.

• This study grant is a “one-time” financial assistance valid for the semester in which it is offered and it is not renewable for subsequent semesters.

• Study grants are awarded in accordance to the established criteria and the decision of the Award Committee is FINAL.

• Study grant is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash.
• Study grants awarded are subject to the availability of funds.
• The University reserves the right to revoke the award if the student fails to comply with the Rules and Regulations of the University or if falsified information is found to be furnished by the applicant to manipulate the outcome of the grant.
• Members of the Selection Committee and Award Committee may be required to sign a disclosure form on relationships to applicants and are required to disclose such information when they are related to the applicant.
• The Award Committee reserves the right to offer study grants for full or part of the tuition fees as it deem appropriate.
• Fulfilment of minimum requirements DOES NOT GUARANTEE successful award of the WEF Study Grant. Award is based on a first come first serve basis.
